Funding and ResearchWhen Noel was alive, he was always eager to assist, in any way, in Sturge-Weber Syndrome and Port Wine Stain research. This was evidenced by his volunteering for many research projects. In death, Noel continues to help and volunteer. In keeping with his medical directive, and immediately after Noel's tragic auto accident, his brain and a large Port Wine Stain from his arm were harvested and donated to the Maryland Brain and Tissue Bank. It is the hope of both his parents and Mr. Walkup that Noel's tissues will significantly advance the research. Noel was a tremendous friend before he was a patient. His courage and outlook on life were inspirations to many. In honor and memory of Noel, Specialty Medicine Compounding Pharmacy will donate 20% of the sale price of each jar of Noel's Numbing Cream to the Sturge-Weber Foundation (SWF). This money will be dedicated to Sturge-Weber Syndrome and Port Wine Stain research.
